What H232 means
H232 is the GHS (Globally Harmonized System) hazard statement “May ignite spontaneously if exposed to air.” It belongs to the Pyrophoric gas hazard class and appears in Section 2 of a Safety Data Sheet and on the product label when a substance or mixture meets the classification criteria for that class and category.
H232 is a lower-tier statement to which GHS assigns no pictogram or signal word on its own. It still communicates a real hazard and belongs on the SDS and label where the criteria are met.
