Frequently asked questions

Is GHSLogic a certified SDS authoring tool?

No. GHSLogic is a draft decision-support assistant. Every output carries a mandatory disclaimer and must be reviewed by a qualified SDS/GHS/regulatory professional before use or distribution. It reduces authoring time — it does not replace professional judgement.

What regulations does GHSLogic check against?

GHSLogic checks against 19 regulatory lists covering 114,217+ substance records across US, EU, and global jurisdictions. US lists include EPA CERCLA Hazardous Substances, EPA Clean Air Act Hazardous Air Pollutants, EPA EPCRA Section 302 Extremely Hazardous Substances, EPA EPCRA Section 313 TRI Chemicals, EPA TSCA Chemical Substance Inventory, NTP Report on Carcinogens, OEHHA Proposition 65 List, OSHA 13 Regulated Carcinogens (29 CFR 1910.1003-1910.1016). EU lists include ECHA CLP Regulation Annex VI Harmonised Classifications, ECHA REACH Annex XIV Authorisation List, ECHA REACH Annex XVII Restrictions, ECHA REACH Registered Substances, ECHA SVHC Candidate List, EU Drug Precursors (Regulation (EC) No 273/2004, Annex I), EU Explosives Precursors (Regulation (EU) 2019/1148, Annexes I-II), EU Ozone Regulation Annexes I-II (Regulation (EU) 2024/590), EU PIC Regulation Annex I (Regulation (EU) 649/2012), EU POPs Regulation Annex I (Regulation (EU) 2019/1021). Global lists include IARC Monographs Carcinogen Classifications. Jurisdiction workflows: US (OSHA HazCom 2012), EU (CLP / REACH), and US+EU combined.

How does AI extraction work?

Upload a supplier SDS (PDF or DOCX) and GHSLogic extracts hazard classes, GHS pictograms, signal words, H-statements, P-statements, and exposure limits using Claude AI. Results are shown with confidence scores and flagged conflicts for your review.

Does GHSLogic perform GHS mixture classification?

Yes. GHSLogic runs a full GHS classification engine on your mixture — acute toxicity (ATE formula), sum-of-parts for skin/eye/STOT/CMR hazards, flash point for flammability, and additive OEL calculations. Results show signal word, pictograms, and recommended H/P statements (with a label-ready ≤6 P-statement set) for US HazCom, EU CLP, and Canada WHMIS workflows.

Can GHSLogic make container labels?

Yes (Professional). After classification, generate a print-ready GHS label PDF in standard sizes (4×6, 4×4, 3×4, full page), Avery 5163 sheets, or small-bottle formats (2×2, 2×1, Avery 5160 at 30/sheet) — with signal word, pictograms, hazard statements, label-ready precautionary statements, supplier details, and UFI (EU). Add an optional QR code linking to the SDS — your own URL, or the product's GHSLogic-hosted SDS link automatically. Labels carry a DRAFT notice until reviewed.

Can GHSLogic host my published SDS?

Yes (Professional). Publish a finalized SDS and it gets a permanent public link — new finalized revisions update the same link automatically, and withdrawal shows a proper notice rather than a dead page. Pair it with the label QR code so customers always scan through to the SDS currently in force. Self-hosting on your own site is equally supported: the label QR accepts any URL.

Can I audit an SDS I already have?

Yes. Upload an existing SDS to the SDS Audit tool and it flags outdated regulatory listings, an old revision date, legacy pre-GHS phrasing, and missing elements for your jurisdiction — plus a HazCom 2012 → 2024 migration checklist. The Free plan includes 3 audits; Professional is unlimited.

Will I be told when regulations change for my products?

On Professional, yes. When the regulatory lists are refreshed, GHSLogic re-checks your saved compositions and emails you if a component newly lands on a watchlist (SVHC, Prop 65, REACH Annex XIV/XVII, CLP Annex VI, a carcinogen list, or CERCLA).

Can I collaborate with my team?

Yes. Professional accounts include organization support with three roles: Admin (full access), Author (create and edit projects), and Reviewer (read-only, with concentrations masked to SDS ranges). Invite team members from Organization Settings.

What is UFI and does GHSLogic support it?

A Unique Formula Identifier (UFI) is required on EU labels and SDS Section 1 for hazardous mixtures placed on the EU market (CLP Annex VIII). GHSLogic generates the UFI automatically from your company VAT number and a sequential formulation number. It also supports PC code assignment and CPNP notification reminders.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes. The Free plan lets you author one complete SDS end-to-end — a project with full regulatory checks, GHS classification, the 16-section Draft SDS generator, and TXT/DOCX/PDF export — plus 3 SDS audits, no credit card required. Unlimited projects, GHS labels, translations, hosted SDS links, and regulatory change alerts are on Professional.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. Cancel from the billing portal — your subscription ends at the current period close and your data is retained.

Is my composition data secure?

Yes. Data is stored in a Supabase PostgreSQL database with row-level security. CBI/trade-secret designations are enforced at the API layer and EU REACH Annex II rules are applied automatically. MFA is available for additional account security.

Who built this?

GHSLogic was designed by a regulatory professional with hands-on SDS authoring experience. That background shaped the tool's logic, workflows, and compliance checks — but it doesn't change the fundamental requirement: every output must be reviewed by a qualified SDS/GHS professional before use. The tool reduces authoring time; it doesn't replace expertise.
